What is HST?

On March 26th of this year the Canadian government
announced its intention to merge PST and GST taxes
into a Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). Now, not only are
taxes harmonized, the government has also added other
goods and services to the list of items that we were not
being taxed on before. The list includes things such as
gasoline, heating fuel, tobacco, fast food, gym memberships,
newspapers, magazines, haircuts, taxi fares, dry cleaning,
legal fees and golf green fees.

Why is this fu*ked?
Because on September 11th, 2003, Dalton McGuinty
signed the CTF Taxpayer Protection Promise, vowing
not to raise taxes if he was to be elected Premier.

Why is this fu*ked?
Because as consumers, we are now paying more taxes
for the goods and services that we need, while the
government continues to cut funding on necessary
education and childcare programs.

Why is this fu*ked?
Because the City of Toronto has introduced mandatory
garbage bins (medium, large and extra-large) for
collection, charging households an annual fee based
on the size of bin chosen. Meaning larger families are
charged higher prices.

I could go on for days about this topic but I won't because
you get the point.
