Today would have been the 38th birthday of Tupac
Amaru Shakur, born on June 16th, 1971. Known for
his status as one of the best rappers of all time, he
was also a promising actor and social activist.
On September 7th, 1996, Tupac was shot four times
in a drive by shooting in Las Vegas. He died several
days later of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest.
Let us remember Tupac today as one of the first major
socially conscious rappers from the West Coast.
