BRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Is anyone upset that winter is here. I am not a fan of winter and my skin is not either.

As I sit here at work with three shirts on and the heat all the way up, I contemplate moving to a hotter country down south.

Sure there is more crime and lesser jobs, but come on !!!!! Who needs money when you have fun in the sun.

With all jokes aside, I watch everyone pile into the neighbourhood Tim Hortons and Starbucks.

I watch people warming up their cars, and getting on and off the bus. As I get my jacket on and take a deep breath before waking

up in the morning. I think to myself, maybe I am in need of a warmer jacket or a warmer vacation.

Hopefully, things will warm up soon.

For everyone out there interested I play this song as a tribute to winter:

You can conquer almost any fear if you will only make up your mind to do so. For remember, fear doesn't exist anywhere except in the mind.

Top 3 Winter Body Lotions

One thing I hate the most about cold, frigid winter weather is the dried out skin that results from it. All year round I'm a fan on the fruity, scented body lotions and sprays from Victoria's Secret, La Senza and Bath and Body Works. Although the fragrances smell good, they do nothing to moisturize my skin. Regardless if you are a male or female, here are the top 3 winter body lotions that will keep your skin smooth and and soft during the winter season.

1. Shikai Borage Dry Skin Therapy Adult Lotion
Dermatologist recommended and the perfect product to treat chronic dry skin including eczema. Designed to deliver moisture directly to skin cells.

Quote of the Day

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

10 Uplifting Foods

Have you ever found that long days are just inevitable when you're working a 9 to 5? I know so many people who can relate to dragging work hours and the rush of tiredness that sweeps over you while you're sitting at your desk. Over time I have noticed that the most common pick me ups for employees seem to be coffee and cigarette breaks. Yuck!! I've tried coffee myself but since I'm not really a fan, I usually drown the taste out with extra milk and sugar. Not a healthy alternative either and how many cups of coffee do you have to drink in a day to stay stimulated? A lot!! Your body's adaptation perdiod actually increases and finds it more difficult to use this substance as a stimulant the more you drink it. This is why I have put together a list of 10 foods that you can incorporate into your everyday meals that will help to boost your mood while you're working away.

1. Salmon
2. Yogurt
3. Walnuts
4. Popcorn
5. Bananas
6. Dark Chocolate
7. Oysters
8. Brazil Nuts
9. Spinach
10. Turkey

It's early November, the temperature is dropping and the thought of outdoor activities is not that appealing to your senses. When all else fails, an intimate dinner at home always takes the cake (no pun intended). Here's a simple dinner menu that even a person who can't boil water can make.

Drink of Choice - Raspberry Beer Cocktail

Appetizer - Caesar Salad

Main Course - Garlic Shrimp Linguine

Dessert - Strawberry Shortcake

New Years Resolutions....In August lol!

As it nears the end of yet another year coming down from the high of Christmas its hard not to reflect on the past 365. Can't help but be reflective and think back about what went well, what went wrong, what can be done better. While its good to learn from and think about the past its better not to dwell on it and to continue to move forward using these life lessons as your guide.
Why then knowing all of this do I still become a victim of my own thoughts?
At times the decisions I make one minute will be drastically different than those I make the next. I have to trick myself into being more decisive. Either I know what I want and I act on it. Or I don't and I think about it, plan my next move and calculate how I will do it and when. But why waste so much in mental limbo?
While still young everyday of this life we live is a gift. Not to sound morbid or preachy but to highlight how real life really is. Some ppl sit think plan then execute for fear of acting too quickly. Others think then act while executing their plan. Time is not then wasted considering all the negative possibilities and hypothetical situations that may or may not present themselves.

On that note
Day 1 of 2009 aka 2000 and mine or 2000 and grind will be different. How do I know? How can you believe that its not just going to be the same as last year? Especially when its only 1 day old. Because not only have I thought about what I want to accomplish this year but I've already started to do it. This year I will write a book a manuscript a journal whatever you want to call it; you're reading it. I'm going to find a legal way to make some extra money which is also in the works as I spoke to my friend today who is sending me some clothes to sell. Order made mailing this week, money to be sent. Finally and most importantly change jobs find something that I will enjoy doing that the stress will not be eating at my young eager driven soul. I am determined to succeed which i'm convinced is the product of hard work and determination.

Over the last year a lot has changed while some things have stayed the same. A love lost a love gained and a lot of lessons learned in between.
You heard me mention the love lost so not going to bore you with the details of that sob story. And you're up to date on the love gained which is on pause. Where do we go from here? Hmm.

Based on the conversation we had new years day the answer is up. We're both challenging ourselves to save as much as we can and progress. The hustler's spirit is not easily learned. Easy to see and believe you can do the same but there has to be a motivator. Find what yours is... To maker the non believers believe to make the your loved ones proud or to prove to yourself that you can.
For me its that I know I deserve and want better for myself. Never been one to settle in life or love so why start now?

Yeah last year was a crazy year of change and uncertainty at times but a new day is upon us... A new year has come and rather than making resolution i'm striving to make history for myself.

Men's Summer Fashion Predictions

This is a great post I ran into while searching for upcoming men's fashion.

This is from a great blogger that I would recommend to all intersted in Men's fashion:

Justine Pooe's Blog

http://www.destinyman.com/blogs/justpulse/archive/2009/11/23/summer-2010-fashion-trends-for-men.aspx

Enjoy !!!

Wassup fellas,

yep its that time of the year again when i team up with Swag-O-metre and review what will potentially be hot in the forthcoming season so u as a stylish men with swagger can upgrade to proper Swag,

OFFICIAL COLOUR

Summer 2010 see yellow become the offiacial hottest colour, taking over from purple which ruled for over 5 seasons.Major designers have included yellow in their almost every piece exhibited this year from shoes to scarfs but purple is still one of da hottest colours so is red and orange is slowly creeping into the mainstream

JEANS

jeans are still a hottest item for any given day, worn and distressed are a must have item with Dolce & Gabbana proving to be the best in this department but Ernergie,Diesel,Iceberg, SugAr Cane,Frankie Marrelo,Takeshy can't be left out they're greatest competitors to D&G on this field

SHIRTS

Dolce & Gabbana are still leading the pack with their relevancy as well as innovation, shirt that will most probably going to rule global streets will be their new double breasted one which just debuted now as well as their oval shaped collar with black trim which is available as ready to wear on a tight cut fit but Dior homme are also greatest designer on this regard they have made oriental prints that will be hard to miss,so is Poul Smith keeping his element of colour and brights happening...be bold not boring but the big collared are so last season Giorgio Armani has spear-headed the small collared shirts now most designers are following suit

BELTS

For some reason it feels as if Domenic and Stefano are ruling the style stakes for summer 2010 their belts are combination of architecture and practicality making their buckles viable but gucci still makes their
presence be felt,so does Salvadore Ferragamo, Diesel, Ernegie, H & M, Hermes with their classical H buckle now available in all colours

TIES

this department is by far ruled by Christian Dior, this world renowned design house have best print and weavers in the whole world, their pure silk ties comes in all sizes and colour perfected to please any fashion snobs out there from oriental to floral they beat all designers hands down

T-SHIRTS

Iceberg are presiding over this portion, seems like Disney's is back on top with licensing deals that they have been carrying out with designers of late.but of all designers that have collaborated with the celebrated animation firm only Iceberg have made being scene wearing a mickey mouse t-shirt bearable even for a 45 year old man

SUITS

Dior Homme leads on many facets, namely fit, cut, material. lining, colour and weight. thier suits are leaner.more bodied than most with body hugging and flattening technology which comes handy with permanent press and anti-shrink for a men on a go

SHOES

Louis Vuitton are rulers on this stake.Marc Jacobs has commission the century old firm to go daring and return to the old boy era with full grain leather materials in all colour that will make you feel bit out of sort to be wearing black shoes, swagger alert: they're purple brogues are a must buy item but Joe and Spade are hottest rivals to them so is Etro, Prada, Cesara Pacioti, Ghost, Poul Smith, Dolce and Gabbana, Dior, Raf Simon,Craig Port has collaborated with Watson to create his line of shoes that should be one of the hottest things in South Africa

CARDIGANS

cardigans are here to stay, wait a minute cardigan never went anywhere, they've always been a must have item but now they have been given a new identity by Designers with colours and material updates, don't be cought wearing your grannies jersey,go source a proper one but look out for Lyle and Scott ones which are so beautiful it hurts to think about them

BOWTIES

bow ties are no longer associated with nerds no match official or sheiks and prince's of this world, designers are now offering them in their rangers but one must be skeptical on materials used, but you must also play around with colour, don't get limited to just black one try purp[le,yellow, gold, silver
, floral, polka dots in velvet or silk...designers that have the bowtie trends in place are Viktor & Rolf

SOCKS

in summer days are so hot a man needs a proper socks and definitely not cotton socks, Silk and nylon are the best materials so can possibly put on,why?? if your shoes is new and tight, this material allows you fitted a room to breath and maneuver the shoes without you loosing the comfort....Poul Smith and Pringle have the best in this regard

WATCHES

80's neon colours are still ruling with recycled tyre rubber as preferred material as opposed to leather and metal but even leather has went all but colorful...Police are leading the pack in this regard with their playful design which is not only just quality but also way too affordable

SHADES

shades are an item to have on any given day, sunglasses are a big nono unless you're blind...shades are an all weather and all purpose gear and come in all shapes and tint to suit your personal preferences Tom Ford has the best range so do Yve Saint Lourent

ACCESORIES

leather chunks are still the hottest items think David Beckham,Lenny Kravitz,Johnnie Depp style, they have this element of Gothic-ness in their neck and bracelets choices with touch of chicness...Thamos Sabo still leads but closely followed by Puzzle

SNEAKERS

Adidas-Diesel collaboration will rock the summer wait until they come out, tell you what the material and style used will knock you off,but Sky tops are the hottest item for summer next year gone are the days of high tops, sneakers are now going high than just your ankles

COATS

Dior Hommes is the ultimate so is Poul and Joe with their cuts and sizes made to fit in Stone,Black,Red, Blue but Burberry Prosum are still in contention in this regard

UNDERWEAR

Intimmisi the itaklian brand are leading the pack will continue to do so into 2010 after they signed Madonna's toy boy Jesus "yesu'us" luz as their face but Ruffskin, Bjorn Borg, Aussiebum and Diesel even Armani still rocks this field

MURSE

male purse is a common man for this but lately fashion fundis have created what might be a perfect slang for them "murse" in this field Beverly Hills Polo club designs are tintilized with full grain leather with canvas strips and bold stitches trim but gucci and Louis Vuitton are still great in this regard if u can afford them so is Tumi,Poul Smith and Diesel

PANTS

V+king are leading the pack when it comes to design on this field, with bold colours and great combination of material, that comes as a slightly narrow leg sizing and flattened patterns

TRACKSUITS

gone are the days when tracksuits are fully confined to gym, well thanks to 80's icon RunDMC,have popularized tracksuits as an ev everyday wear now Adidas have re-made the iconic vintage label Adidas Original look out for their collabs with artists, Celebs and musicians as an on-going celebration on reaching 100 years as a leader since Adi Dassler started the brand back in Germany

SHORTS

shorts are back, slimmer and more fitted than ever before, here there is no stand out designer or brand so be liberated just take note that they suit short to medium height individuals than the tall once better

SCARFS

Who said scarves where for gays?? any sensible and stylish male needs a good scarf in thier wardrobe, its actually a must have item,go for pure cotton that is ruffled preferably without laces but well trimmed it must be,Hermes have the best prints so is Etro and Tom Ford...floral and polka dots are superb ones to own so are 80's neon brights

SHOP OF DA YEAR

H & M are the super store for designer bargain and everyday wear,no one comes close to them

Insanity Workout Kicked My Ass!

Yo here is today's joke.

Last nite I decided to workout with my wife on this new cardio workout called "Insanity" hosted by Sean T from the notorious "Hip-Hop Abs".

The night before I sat and watched my wife do a full 30 minute workout in front of me and realized that I have been slacking on my cardio activities.

So last night I decided "hey what the hell, lets do it with Nadia and prove that I still got it."

What I did not know was that this workout was a full 60 minutes with maybe 5 minutes of breaktime in total. Breaktime was alotted to refuelling on water, wiping sweat off your face and back and trying to regain consciousness.

I began the workout following along with my wife and Shaun T, who seemed to be breaking it down pretty smoothly. After about 15 minutes of jumping jacks, lunges, squats and awkward strecthes the "Warm up" was over and now the Exercise would begin.

When I realized that we were just working on the warm up I was shocked, afraid and interested all at the same time.

Not only was my heart beating out of my chest like an AK-47 in West Kingston, but I was sweating like I stole something.

As the workout increased and the moves intensified I began to have what many would call an "outer body experience" in which I was watching myself workout.

My back began to tense up, my legs felt like linguine and my abs were burning something serious.

When it was time for a 30 second water break, I collapsed on the floor and could not move. I mean I was panting and struggling to breath something serious. The funny thing about it was that this was only 20 minutes into the 60 minute workout.

I struggled to keep up with my wife and Shaun T who was not only instructing the viewer on this "Intensity Workout Video", but dominating and running circles around the participants in the video also.

Suddenly, I began to lose my balance and fell hard on my carpeted apartment floor. I lay there for about two minutes, breathing hard and watching my wife continue the workout like she was performing on stage.

10 minutes had passed and in which it dawned on me that I had actually fell asleep instantly due to working out that hard. I was stunned. Not only was I lying on the floor, sweating like a wounded prison guard, I actually passed out and was stone conked on the floor sleeping like a new born baby.

After I came to, I got back up and attempted (with all my strength) to continue the workout. 2 minutes later I was out cold on the couch fast asleep from exhaustion to the sound of my wife's breathing while working out, and Shaun T yelling at us to
" Push Through and Keep going".

Now this was no regular workout video on the beaches of some Caribbea, this is the real thing.

I challenge you to do this Intensity workout.

If you can complete it on your first try i will give you $20.00 cash right away.

"Challenge em'. Challenge em' " I dare you. LOL!

F*#\ the double standards.

When a female is angry, frustrated or annoyed with you, in their minds, this is a free pass to say or do anything they please, regardless of how rude or disrespectful. This may include any or all of the follow: hang up the phone, walk away from the table in the middle of a restaurant, raise their voice at you, hit you, spit in your face or confide in another man. What many of these woman fail to realize is the possibility that you did not intend to offend or upset them and even more that you may not be aware that you have done so.
At the very least, I think woman (anyone really, but lets focus on woman right now), should speak their mind in a healthy open way, letting their friend, lover, partner, husband or concubine know their feelings or opinion.
Arresting someone who may be guilty of nothing or of many crimes is unjust especially when they are unaware of what crime they have committed and more so if the laws are unknown. Imagine being arrested, detained, castrated for not putting down the toilet seat, being too nice to your girlfriend’s friend, making a joke that she didn’t find funny, smiling to the cashier, mortgage broker, dental hygienist or any female person in the world, without the expressed written consent of your girlfriend or wife, ridiculous right?
I thought so.
Ladies I ask you to check your egos at the door. Stop thinking you can get away with murder because of the power you possess between your legs. While you’re a woman, I’m a man, this does not negate the fact that in order for us to coexist in a civil, loving, progressive way, we need to treat and respect each other as equals and communication is key!

Martin Luther King Jr Day.

Today let us each take a moment to reflect on "the dream" that Martin Luther King Jr. had for the world. Keep in mind that this is a dream, hope and desire that he had for every person, not just members of his own race or community.

R.I.P Teddy Pendergrass

R.I.P: Teddy Pendergrass (1950 - 2010)

Yesterday a legend was lost when Teddy Pendergrass passed away at the age of 59 from colon cancer. He was the first black male singer to record five consecutive multiplatinum albums in the US. Unlike the songs of many of today's male R&B artists, Pendergrass' music bordered on eroticism without explicit lyrics or coarse language — just through the raw emotion in his voice. As a sex symbol of the 1970s music scene, Teddy Pendergrass gained unparalleled admiration from female fans for his suggestive songs and his women-only concerts at which teddy bears were passed out to audience members. Some of his greatest hits included "Close the Door", "Love TKO", "Turn Off the Lights" and "Come on Over to My Place."

New Years Resolutions: Why Can't We Keep Them?

New Year, new attitude, new you....right? Wrong! Every time a new year comes around, we all make resolutions to improve our well being. And the line that follows all too many after they've set their standard for the year, "This year I'm going to stick to it." Resolutions should always be measurable and attainable like any other goal we set in place for ourselves. So, if you really want to follow through with your resolution for 2010, here are some pointers.

Revisit. Is your resolution too vague. If it is, rethink your goal and be more precise about the outcomes that you want and how they can be approached.

Rephrase. Reword your resolution so that you feel confident enough that it can be attained. Trying to do too much too soon will hinder you in the long run.

Refocus. This is your committment to yourself so make it as fun and exciting as you want or need it to be.

Request Help. Now this is a big one. Don't be afraid to ask a friend or family member for help if you need an extra push.
