Poetic Thoughts

It's easy to sit there and think you got it the worse.
The whole world is against you and you've been cursed.
Because, you had a bad day or even week or two.
Who's to say that someone else hasn't had it even worse than you.

Your parents tried all they could but still they poor.
That they tried all they could to keep you from walking out that door.
But you vowed to be nothing like them, you wanted more.
You'd either sell that work or get a team of whores.

People swear that once they get rich things will be all better.
No matter how much money you have you can't change the weather.
Like anything else it's just a means to an ends.
You can only drive one at a time, the Lex coupe, Beamer or the Benz.

Still you convince yourself that the reward is worth all the risk.
When you look down to see a wad of money in your fist.
Before handing it over to the angry man with the night stick.
As he ushers you into a cell where a cot and toilet can barely fit.

Another end of the world movie?!?!

In recent memory I question why are there so many movies about the end of the world?

Don't believe me ... think about it ... Armageddon, Independence Day, Day After Tomorrow, I am Legend and most recently 2012.

I think it's in order to instill fear in society and create greater dependencies on the system. Whoa, I know, some of you may think I'm reaching a little bit but think about it. Whenever you or someone has seen one of these movies leaves the theatre you can't help but wonder or think, "What if that really did happen?", "What if the world ended in 2012?". (SEE, now they have you thinking from a fearful perspective).

BUT, what I really think it's about especially in times like these, movies of this type are meant to ignite or spark the economy. If you are faced with you own mortality, most people are encouraged, motivated or eager to live what remaining life you have to the fullest. Buying that thing you always wanted, taking that trip you've been putting off, investing in something you always dream about.

So maybe these movies are a good thing, for the economy and overall morale. Maybe all movies should be about the potential destruction, demise, or obliteration of the Earth.

I still don't think so, but that's me ... what do you think?

Bootleg Condoms?!?!

"China, the world’s fourth largest condom market is having a serious issue with counterfeit condoms being sold in the country.
The police have made four arrests at the factory which was distributing the illicit condoms. The biggest concern, of course, is the fact that the condoms can generate both pregnancy and diseases if used during intercourse. Authorities say there were bare-chested employees using vegetable oil to lubricate the condoms and putting them into fiber bags without any sterilization inside the central Hunan province based factory.
Since March, the factory has produced over two million condoms labeled as “Jisson, Durex. Rough Rider, Six Sense and Love Card.” The police are looking for as many as one million bootleg condoms which have already been distributed."

Really? Are condoms that expensive that they need to be bootlegged? Would you want to buy these bootleg condoms at a discount from the trunk of someone cars? It's not like a dvd that doesn't work and you throw it away or if you're real tight we the "dvd guy" exchange it next time. If your condom is defective, you're not in the best position.

Love them or hate them ...

The New York Yankees are World Series Champions again.

It's the franchise's 27 championship title.

If nothing else, this is an indication for all other major league teams in every sport that if you want to be successful you will need to spend some money.

Gossip Guy?

I think the modern man, gossips more than the woman.

Actually no wait, what we men do is not gossiping, it's more shit talking, bragging, boasting and trading war stories.

Woman gossip, questioning what someone at work was wearing, how her date stayed in the corner all night at the party, why would she cut her hair like that, the colour of her nails, the curvature of her eyebrows and on and on and on.

While the men I know are not quite that bad, yet, they do tend to have similar conversations: poking fun at their muscle bound friend who buys XS shirts, questioning the manhood of their friend who lets their girlfriend walk all over them, making fun of the mohawk hair style that one follower friend just had to get, questioning if any friend that has recently started going to the gym is on steroids or discussing peoples relationships starting with "If I were him, I'd...".

Now that I think about it, I wonder if this is in fact a problem of gossip or passing on information or more so one of JEALOUSY.

Actually no I don't wonder, I know that it is. The world or more so the city we live in, its one of people not being happy for you, what you have? are doing? Instead, questioning why you have what you have? or how you got where you are? how you got with that girl? did you really get with that girl? why you have more money than I? why you dress so fly?

I say be happy with who you are, instead of being jealous of someone else, let what you see in them be motivation if you want to attain or achieve the same success or material gains. As you move through life remember that if you think that you'd rather be someone else, realize that if you were to change places with someone, know that you would no longer have your problems TRUE, but you would then have their problems.

This holiday seasons film recommendation: Trading Places (w/ Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd).
While it's a comedy there is a lot to be learned from the events that transpire in the movie.

Dollars & Sense

If you could devise a plan that allows you to do
more with your money, would you contribute
to it?

If you answered 'yes', then I just might have a
solution for you. Why not develop a financial
plan? Financial plans are great for the following
reasons:

1. They allow you to know where you are in the
present, in order to help you to plan for the
future.
2. Planning financially on paper helps to keep
poor spending habits under control.
3. Writing things down helps to provide you
with a realistic picture of your entire
financial situation.

Now, if your not into going out and finding a
financial planner, here's what you will need
in order to develop your own financial plan.

Start by making a list of the following:
- what you own (cars, home, savings, investments)
- what you owe (student loans, mortgage, car loans,
credit cards and other bills)
- what you make (pay and other sources of income)
- what you spend (expenses like food, clothing, car
costs, etc.)
- what you hope to achieve

If you're having trouble collecting the above
information, here is where you can look:

Bank and investment statements
Mortgage or loan papers
Credit card bills
Pay Stubs
Tax returns
Bills and receipts

To make this process a little easier on yourself,
you can also download an Investment Planning
Worksheet from the Canadian Securities
Administrators'.
